Powerful Time In Costa Rica
In Matthew 14:22-32 we see a famous passage of scripture where Jesus approaches his disciples who are caught in a storm and once again fearful that bad things were probably going to happen. The disciples are further alarmed when they see Jesus approaching them walking on water. Jesus' words to them, "Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” Such comforting words. Peter then replies, "Lord, if it’s you tell me to come to you on the water.” Jesus' response? Come! It's an amazing passage of scripture because Peter does take that step of faith to join Jesus on the water and actually begins to walk on water himself! It wasn't until he began to look at the challenging circumstances around him that he began to sink. Even then, Jesus was there to save and support him. The lesson? When we get out of the boat we can see miraculous things happen!
In the same way, Jesus is always inviting us to leave our fears and comfort to join him on the water where he is working. This past week, our E4 team had the privilege of joining 21 missionaries from Bethel Church in Chandler, Arizona, and hundreds of pastors from Costa Rica to join Jesus where he is working in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica. Here are the results of the trip:
We were able to engage over 5,000 students with the gospel during our school assembly programs.
We were able to preach in 14 different churches in the region during the week.
Over 40 churches in total partnered with us in our efforts with close to 800 volunteers.
3,300 people attended the Night of Hope on Saturday evening.
We led the children's program at Night of Hope with over 250
children in attendance.
Over 2,000 people responded to the gospel to receive Jesus.
Thank you for your faithful prayers and support that allow us to
join Jesus where He is working.
